On September 29th Insomnia Cookies fired union organizer Colin James for his union activity under the guise of company theft. Colin has been a model employee without a single write-up and has been organizing at Insomnia Cookies for over 6 months.
This is the same union busting tactic this company used late last year, firing union organizer Tommy Mendez in Nov. of 2013. (http://openmediaboston.org/content/another-worker-fired-insomnia-cookies-unionization-effort-boston-location-picketed-2784).
Colin had protested when he received no break for a 9 hour shift, and put the company on notice that his manager was making homophobic comments and sexually harassing women.
Insomnia Cookies told Colin that the company had video evidence, but he was not allowed to see it. His managers claim the incident occurred in early September, but they could not even provide him with a date. The supervisor who fired Colin knew he was an IWW, and this was the real reason Colin was terminated. Colin & the IWW filed Unfair Labor Practices (ULP ) charges with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB),
Please call Chief Operating Officer David Lasus or regional manager Liam Halloran demanding an end to Insomnia's union-busting practices. BE RESPECTFUL, NO PROFANITY, SHARE THIS EVENT, AND CALL OFTEN.

"I am contacting you to voice my support for the IWW campaign currently underway at your Harvard Square location. I demand the immediate reinstatement of union organizer Colin, and no retaliation against any worker for their union activity, and recognition of the IWW Insomnia Workers' Union. Failure to do so will invite further consequences."
